When the Unexpected becomes the Expected!!

Something has very recently occurred to me.  When I first suggested that I would ATTEMPT to run a marathon, everyone was surprised and interested to see how I would get one.

This same interest etc was shown recently when Sian (my wife) ATTEMPTED to do her first marathon in Lochaber.

However as I completed by 5th marathon in London a week later there was almost a sense of "that's what Sean does".  The unexpected had almost become the expected.

This was then further supported one week later, when a bunch of friends completed the Hoka Highland Fling (all 53 miles of it over rough terrain on the West Highland Way).  Whilst impressed, there was almost a feeling of "that's what they do!"

This really got me thinking about how hard people work to achieve there goals and how
sometimes we take them for granted.

I guess the new unexpected is that we all keep "doing what we do" for as long as we can keep doing it. This way people will see the expected become the unexpected-"I can't believe they are still doing that!"

Only time will tell!!
